Here's mine:

"If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." - C.S. Lewis

As for why? Because there are desires inside every soul which have no resolution on this side of eternity. All pursuits of happiness lead to dead ends (money, drugs, pleasure, power, fame, etc). They never quite satisfy. Why? Because we were supposed to be satisfied by an infinite God. It's my best reason to rely on God.

Good post.

Dude, that list is huge. I think my list is close to that long, but I have so many books to read I'm probably blocking some out. And, that looks like a lot of great books. Let us know how they are later.

Looks like it's available through July. I just got it a couple days ago, so I'll probably start reading it while listening to the audio.

a friend of mine says baptism is the first step . . . being buried with christ in his death.
then she and another friend emphasize it is then "living in your baptism" in many small (and perhaps sometimes large) choices every day.
she says that then when the actual moment of your death arrives, it is like meeting an old friend, and is natural and easy to cross over.
makes perfectly good spiritual sense to me . . . but another story to live out.
thanks be to god for sending his spirit to help!

Good thoughts man. I've often wondered what went on in their heads when that happened. If it were me, there would be a whole mess of hesitation!

I think it would be great. I think we use the "study bible" a bit too much, and having the Bible read a little more like a "book" or "letter" (which is how they were really written) would be a big plus.
